How does one connect with God?

To answer this question connecting with God is honestly quite simple. A lot of times we may think God is complicated , when in fact he really isn’t. How do you feel more connected to your loved ones? You spend more time with the person. Some feel really close to their loved ones talking to them everyday or texting them. Some feel really connected to someone when they sacrifice time to spend with them. Others like when their loved ones give them a gift. Some people also like when their loved one does something out of the ordinary for them. Also when their loved one just hears them out. God is the same way, he loves when you just take time to hear him or speak to him. Ways we can connect with God is one, have a secret place where you can just be free with God. The way you would talk to your bestfriend talk to God. Take time during your day to put some worship songs and just meditate with him. Have quiet times where you just let him speak to your heart, spirit and mind. Start devotionals that minister to you about the season you currently feel you are in. Honestly simply read the word of God. The word of God is God himself and his words. His words breathe life into you. It shows you how to live for him. It teaches you discipline and how to be a child of God. It teaches you what pleases him and what does not. It literally teaches you about your whole walk with God. It teaches you what brings you closer to God and what will push you away from God. You could do the simplest thing, he just looks at your heart where it’s at and your sacrifice. You could literally go on a walk with him in the park and he will connect with you. He just likes to see you be genuine with him. He knows when you just want to get closer to him because you want something. Or if you want to get close to him because you really want to know him. Do something different with God, go on dates with him. Just like you want your loved ones here on earth to take you out, listen to you, be real with you, care for you, speak to you, to think about you, God is literally the same way. He wants a relationship with you, he wants to exchange/ go back and forth with you. He doesn’t want it to be a one way street. God created relationships, we were always meant to model his relationship with us. That’s why you really don’t know how to treat someone unless you are connected to God. God teaches us how to see and treat people. Jesus literally modeled who God is. The way he walked, talked and lived life on earth proved that. God is love and we learn how to really love when we connect to God. When we speak to him and allow him to show us what that really means. God has shown me what love really means by how he is so merciful with me. How he favors me even when I don’t deserve it. How he protects me and doesn’t see me the way the world does. How he never gives up on me and always has my back. How he’s been there for me when no one else was. How he sees me and forgives me. So how do you connect with God, simply by seeking him. Get to know him like you would in any relationship. Do different things with him. It takes time but being connected to the Father is the best thing you will ever want to do in your life. You will feel complete and definitely not alone. When I invited him in my life that’s where my connection with him really started. I wanted to know more about this God everyone would talk about. But its something you have to constantly work on so it grows deeper each day.
