Do you know Jesus ?

This is insane!! God ministered to me about this last week. The Pharisees KNEW the word of God. But they didn’t “know” “know” God. If they did they would of understood what Jesus was doing. Jesus is clear he didn’t come to abolish the law but he came to FULFILL it! Meaning to accomplish it and complete it. If you think about this, that’s insane! The Pharisees thought that Jesus was trying to abolish the law. There are so many scenes or stories in the Bible where it shows they questioned Jesus. They questioned his motives and if he was really the Messiah. Its crazy because not to judge there are many religions that teach like the Pharisees. The Pharisees still taught with the mosaic law, rather than the law of Christ. If they were so connected to God, they would have known or remembered what God was trying and going to do. He sent Jesus to come justify and sanctify us. He came to teach us a new way of living, one that pleases God. Jesus came to save us from our wicked ways. He came to establish a new law, one that would fulfill us and complete us. He came to bring us to the light. You hear people tell you, you get to know God when you read the word. But you don’t truly understand it until you yourself experience it. Lately I’ve been reading the word differently. I tell God I want to know him more through his word. I pray that you reveal and speak to me through your word. I can truly say in reading the word, I’ve gotten to know my Father more. Something that’s impacted me that my pastor says to our church all the time is , “I don’t have religion to offer you, but I can offer you a relationship with Christ”. That’s what we will get when we get to know Jesus. We will get a genuine relationship. When we know Jesus we get to know more of who we truly are. We will get to know the love that our Father in heaven truly has for us. We will get to know Gods character and voice. Jesus didn’t come to condemn people. He came to forgive, free, redeem, and love his people. When you read the word you see how Jesus walked. Jesus is exactly what we should be modeling. When Jesus spoke to the woman who was going to be stoned, he defended her. But most importantly he forgave her and told her “to sin no more”. Meaning he forgave her but he also asked her to stop sinning. God will forgive you but he also requires for you to change/not stay the same. The beautiful thing is that he doesn’t ask you to change by yourself, he walks you through it. You can tell someone knows Jesus or believes in him by the way they act and talk. The Pharisees clearly did not know that. It’s crazy how the whole Bible is an example of how this world is. When someone truly believes in Jesus it causes transformation. It’s different when someone tells you about Jesus, but once you get to know him on your own, he changes you completely. I believe if you truly believe in Jesus your actions will follow it. Let me show you a verse that proves my point, “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead”. God is clear if you believe in Jesus than your actions will show it. Your faith produces fruits.

James 2:14, 17 NIV

So to challenge you, do you want to know God through the Pharisees or through Jesus. I promise you one leads to eternal life and the other to eternal death. I say it roughly because it’s very crucial. One way teaches you wrongly and the other rightly. God is clear in his word, the only way to life is through Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16
