I want to look at a deeper study of running the race….
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;”
2 Timothy 4:7 NASB2020
I love this verse because sometimes life gets so hectic, that we want to quit. If we are being honest, sometimes in running the course, life can bring some difficult obstacles. Sometimes we run into some difficult trials, that feel like they are never going to end… But what I love about the Word of God, is that it literally has an answer to any and every situation in life that you may encounter. Without Gods word, I wouldn’t be able to live, if I’m being honest. Even now writing this, I’m speaking with a vulnerable heart… Life gets hard sometimes, but we must finish the course family! We have a God that has never given up on us and we owe it to Him! Everything we have and everything we are, is His & from Him! We serve a living God who desires our attention. We serve a living God that doesn’t want anyone to take His place in your heart. He knew what He was doing when he made us… We need to believe and have stronger faith, in believing in who God says He is and who He says we are! We need to depend on Him deeper, He is the only true way!
I love this verse that the apostle Paul stated in this chapter. It’s about keeping the faith…. That is what it’s always been about. Do we truly believe in God enough? We spend so much time treasuring in our hearts the things of this world, when God never called us to do that. He called us to keep the faith, until the end… He’s warned us already, that it isn’t going to be easy. In fact, He’s even shown us in His word, other believers as examples, whom didn’t have it easy… Those of us who have tasted and seen of His goodness, should feel honored that He’s revealed Himself to us! Now we must step out in faith and not by sight… We have literally been given the Truth and now it’s in our hands to keep the faith. We must put into practice Gods word and spread the good news! We have received true freedom in Jesus Christ!! The enemy is after our Faith… once you realize that, you must change the way you see things. You must change the way you handle things as well… Jesus was a prime example of what to do when being tested, stay firm and true to the word of God! Finish the race until the end, no matter how hard it is or gets! When I was in middle school, I did track. I’m not going to lie, to me it was one of the most hardest things I’ve done. I wasn’t that great, and I wasn’t the fastest, but atleast I finished until the end. With God it’s not about how fast you win the race or even if you win it first, it’s simply about finishing the race… Even if it’s hard family in Christ, finish the race! Which literally means, finish the course of your life here on earth, with your faith truly devoted and fixed on God! Finish this life believing in God and walking through the narrow gates, not the wide one. Don’t give up when it gets hard, remain in Him until the end… My prayer in this moment, if you are reading, is that you receive hope & faith! You see this race won’t be easy, but removing distractions and things that try to waiver your faith, will make it way easier to endure until the end; when our Father in Heaven calls us to go home to be with Him. Where our bodies physically die here on earth and our souls/spirits go to be with Him. God has already given us primarily His word, to help go through this life. But I also believe He has placed the correct people in our lives, to help encourage and push our faith closer to/in Him.
“Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14 NASB2020
Let’s press in and run until the end…
