Hmmmm where do I start with this? Well everyone wants a love story, I know I do. Recently God has helped me understand what he wants in a relationship. But most importantly what he does before the relationship even begins or is given. In Gods word he states, “ But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Mathew 6:33). That’s exactly what Adam was doing before he received Eve. I’m pretty sure Adam didn’t even know he was going to receive a partner. All he was focused on was doing Gods will. He was focused on working the land, focused on whatever tasks God asked of him to do. After God saw that Adam was whole and living in obedience/oneness with him that’s when he decided “it is not good for man to be alone”. You see there are some things that God wants you to do before you get with the person he calls you to be with. He wants you to be okay and be satisfied with just being with him. He gives us things because he loves us and wants to see us happy. Not because we really need them. Everyone has a season or has seasons in their life where they need to experience and understand that they only really just need God. Also it’s not that God doesn’t want to give us things he knows we desire, he’s also working behind the scenes. There is also a spiritual world/realm that no one sees. Sometimes he’s fighting for our behalf. Sometimes he’s simply just being patient with us. Other times he’s moving things around. God knows what you need best and when you need it best because he’s your creator. If he gave you certain things in your current state it’s possible that instead of it being a blessing to you, you will turn it into a curse or ruin it. The simple truth is that God created everything so detailed and specific; even with timing. He knows you and he knows your hearts desires. But one thing he simply asks of you before anything is that you be whole with him first. That you seek and be fully in his presence/kingdom. So if I’m here to tell you something is to simply get to the point in your life where you truly understand that only God can satisfy. God is enough, you should be more than good if all you are left with is God. The truth is that people are going to fail you; even the ones closest to you. But you should be okay because you know even if people fail, God will never and that should give you peace. I’ve had to learn and I hope you learn from this post that it will come in due time. Just focus on being one with God. Focus on living for him and getting to know your Father more. Also sometimes we want a relationship and we can’t even give them anything. If we don’t know God or have a relationship with him, we won’t be able to give our partner anything. God is love, patient, faithful, gentle, good, peaceful, joyful, kind, and self controlled. Being one with God is what teaches us how to treat others because he’s all these things. We have something to give when we are truly one with the Father. So if you are reading, be patient because God is working on your love story…

Many people think the closer you get to God the less prone you are to getting attacks or less to endure trials and tribulations. But it’s actually the opposite, you get more if anything! In the past two weeks, I’ve been feeling a lot like Job in the Bible. Now let me explain who Job was, Job feared God and avoided evil. But one day the devil saw this and told God he serves you only because you always protect him, bless him and have made him successful in everything he does. This is the devils next words… “But if you were to destroy everything he has, i promise you that he would curse you to your face”. So God said alright lets test this, i don’t think you are right but lets see if thats true. Do whatever you want with anything he has, but don’t hurt Job himself. Listen if you are reading this right now i want you to understand, God doesn’t want you to to believe in him only in the good times but in the bad times as well. God is looking for people to worship him in spirit and in truth. He doesn’t want you to worship him only when things are going great in your life but even when you are going through the toughest times as well. God never promised us easier times when we get closer to him. In fact the bible states in John 16:33, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world”. So God is clearly stating that we will have trials and tribulations here on earth, but we must have peace in him. You will go through it but he has already defeated it for you. Guys we live in a body thats fleshly but we are more than that, we are a spirit as well. When we leave earth we aren’t leaving with our bodies but our spirits. Thats why God wants to make sure we aren’t idolizing materialistic things but rather Him. Some things we find here important are only temporary, the things God wants us to focus on is eternal the inner parts of us which will be going with God one day. Back to Job God allowed him to be tested to see where his faith was at. Was he idolizing the things God was giving him or was he truly who he said he was; a godfearing man. Did he believe in God because of all the riches and treasures he was giving him or did he genuinely and truly know the God he served. Let me tell you it is really easy to serve God and know he’s evident when things are going great. But when the hard times hit, thats when its really difficult to believe and serve him. I’m not going to lie to you, i say that because i’m currently in that season. I feel like i’m Job right now, where God is testing me. Will i serve him only when he gives me good things or will i serve him even when i feel like he’s quiet. Will i serve him even when it feels like i’m surrounded by darkness and evil? Will i believe in him even when i don’t see him? Will i believe in him even when i don’t hear him clearly. Will i believe in him even when i’m looking with my natural eyes and everything doesn’t seem like its looking good? Will i believe in him even when the devil is throwing so many attacks to my mind, life, friends, family, the world, etc? I’ve been getting closer to God more lately and all i’ve been seeing is the devil attack me. I got into a car accident the other day, i’ve been having dark dreams, etc. I told God i don’t understand why this is happening. I’ve been getting closer to you, i don’t get it. I feel like Job he was your faithful servant, he served you and than he was going threw it. But it was all to test his faith… I believe i’m being tested too, will i trust God like Job did even though things were hard or will i give up and let the devil have victory over my life even though Jesus already gave me victory several years ago? I’m not going to give up fam and neither should you. I will stick to having faith, remaining steadfast and believing in these two bible verses…

James 1:12 ~ Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

1 Peter 5:10 ~ And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

P.s. He is building and strengthening you even in the hard times. God wastes no time…

How does one connect with God?

To answer this question connecting with God is honestly quite simple. A lot of times we may think God is complicated , when in fact he really isn’t. How do you feel more connected to your loved ones? You spend more time with the person. Some feel really close to their loved ones talking to them everyday or texting them. Some feel really connected to someone when they sacrifice time to spend with them. Others like when their loved ones give them a gift. Some people also like when their loved one does something out of the ordinary for them. Also when their loved one just hears them out. God is the same way, he loves when you just take time to hear him or speak to him. Ways we can connect with God is one, have a secret place where you can just be free with God. The way you would talk to your bestfriend talk to God. Take time during your day to put some worship songs and just meditate with him. Have quiet times where you just let him speak to your heart, spirit and mind. Start devotionals that minister to you about the season you currently feel you are in. Honestly simply read the word of God. The word of God is God himself and his words. His words breathe life into you. It shows you how to live for him. It teaches you discipline and how to be a child of God. It teaches you what pleases him and what does not. It literally teaches you about your whole walk with God. It teaches you what brings you closer to God and what will push you away from God. You could do the simplest thing, he just looks at your heart where it’s at and your sacrifice. You could literally go on a walk with him in the park and he will connect with you. He just likes to see you be genuine with him. He knows when you just want to get closer to him because you want something. Or if you want to get close to him because you really want to know him. Do something different with God, go on dates with him. Just like you want your loved ones here on earth to take you out, listen to you, be real with you, care for you, speak to you, to think about you, God is literally the same way. He wants a relationship with you, he wants to exchange/ go back and forth with you. He doesn’t want it to be a one way street. God created relationships, we were always meant to model his relationship with us. That’s why you really don’t know how to treat someone unless you are connected to God. God teaches us how to see and treat people. Jesus literally modeled who God is. The way he walked, talked and lived life on earth proved that. God is love and we learn how to really love when we connect to God. When we speak to him and allow him to show us what that really means. God has shown me what love really means by how he is so merciful with me. How he favors me even when I don’t deserve it. How he protects me and doesn’t see me the way the world does. How he never gives up on me and always has my back. How he’s been there for me when no one else was. How he sees me and forgives me. So how do you connect with God, simply by seeking him. Get to know him like you would in any relationship. Do different things with him. It takes time but being connected to the Father is the best thing you will ever want to do in your life. You will feel complete and definitely not alone. When I invited him in my life that’s where my connection with him really started. I wanted to know more about this God everyone would talk about. But its something you have to constantly work on so it grows deeper each day.

This is actually an interesting word. According to Google this word means, the alteration of something from its original course, meaning, or state to a distortion or corruption of what was first intended. This is exactly what the devil tried to do with Gods plans. Gods original plan was for us to worship him and live for him. He wanted the devil to worship him too, but he wanted to change things and to be God. He wanted to alter Gods original plan for his creation. The crazy thing is that he is still doing that. Everyday he is looking for ways to alter your purpose. To alter your mind, heart and ways. He wants you to feel trapped the way he now is. Lately I’ve been reading the word deeper and God is constantly showing me how much he loves his people. In the word he shows how much grace, mercy, forgiveness and love he has for us. He gave so many people in the Bible chances to repent and follow him wholeheartedly. They would fail him so much and he would still try to get them back to his original design. What’s beautiful is that what he said he would do, he fulfilled. He sent Jesus to become flesh so that he can redeem us from our foolish ways. God is constantly making ways so that we can come back home to him. He sent his only son to die on the cross for us and than he left us the Holy Spirit to live with us forever. He did that so that we are constantly reminded that there is a way back to the Father. God uses Jesus and the Holy Spirit to do this. So that we can understand that there is no more separation between us. If want him we got him, we just have to genuinely follow him. Over the years the devil has perverted sex, marriage, dating, gender, identity, family, life in general, etc. He is constantly trying to separate us from the original design. He wants us to be selfish like he was in the beginning. You see that’s what sin does, it wants to bring people down, kill, steal and destroy. You want to know the secret to going back to the original design. It’s Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God”. This means God wants us to alter the sinful thinking we had living in this sinful world to his original state of thinking. We do this by letting the Holy Spirit transform our life and mind DAILY. Remember you are dying to your flesh DAILY when you come to Jesus. You do this by reading the word that transforms and redirects us to the Fathers ways. Allowing the Holy Spirit to renew our minds daily also means God exposes what is not of him. He gives you the discernment to know the difference between the devils ways and his ways. He is taking the way you used to walk and giving you a new life. Now what are you going to do..? Will you conform to this worlds ways or will you allow God to transform your ways so that you can go back to Gods original design for your life?

Sometimes we get frustrated and feel alone. I’m not going to lie the season I’m in sometimes feels lonely. But when you feel lonely that is a spirit and you need to rebuke it/close that door. Now feeling alone is a different story. Alone but knowing that God is with you is different. I believe there are times where God separates you from the things you are used to/comfortable. But you aren’t actually alone, you have God. You are just separated but it feels like you are surrounded by no one. Sometimes God needs to get you alone with him because he’s all you simply need in that season. That’s not a bad thing, it teaches you to depend only on God. It’s not to say that there won’t be people there for you in that season if you need it. Of course God will never leave you without people. But it’s different, it’s not the alones you think. It’s the type of alones you aren’t used to. Most of the time we are used to people being there for us all the time. But just like God wants to help you grow he’s helping his other children grow as well. Sometimes we grow into this comfort of depending on people for everything. But God does not like that, we don’t realize that sometimes we go to the level of idolizing the people in our lives;unconsciously. When you are his child, he can’t let that happen. Which is why i believe he allows us to have a season of being alone with him. He wants to remind you that he is God, and that he’s the only one that can do all things/complete you. God also trains you in that season. So that you can understand more what he’s calling you to do in life. So you can understand and clearly hear Gods voice. I’ve noticed in that season where you feel like you are alone that’s really where God reveals so much to you and speaks to you. Of course that’s also if you truly allow him to. God doesn’t waste anytime, he uses what the enemy meant or wanted to destroy you to lift you up. He wants intimacy with us and when we lose sight of that he moves things so that we can see clear again. Also people forget that our prayers have power. When we pray “God i want to get closer to you” “God I need you” “God have way in my life”. Guys becarful with what you pray for LOL!!! God WILL take you SERIOUSLY! Honestly, PERIODD!! I feel like at first it sucks because you never think Gods going to do it in the way you think. If you pray to God that simple prayer, it ain’t going to be that simple lol. But honestly it will be worth it, it may hurt in the moment or for a while. But soon you will see the light on the other side, because you are going to get there; it shall pass. God knows why he allows everything in your life. I received a word where God told me “I know what you need”. That’s the simple fact and sometimes when you lose sight of that he uses certain seasons to remind you and refocus you to him. Something I’ve learned about God, he never wants you too comfortable. For when you are too comfortable you settle for less than what God wants or has in stored for you. He wants you to keep leveling up in him. He never wants you to stay in one spot, he wants his children growing and flourishing. He wants us to be fruitful beings like Jesus was on earth. When God separates you it’s because he wants to take you away from the distractions. He wants to take you away from what can impede you from his purpose in your life. You don’t need to be on the same level as everyone, you are on a different journey than everyone else. Just like they are as well. God is working on his children and there is no room for distraction. I personally believe God is so beautiful for setting us apart. When you choose Jesus as your Lord and Savior he protects you. He protects you from the enemies plans over your life. Now that I’ve truly comprehended the season that I’m in, God has showed me to appreciate him. The things he’s protected me from, man! he is good! He hears the cries and prayers of his children, trust that. I thank God for that season of being set apart. In this season I’ve been able to see with Gods perspective. I’ve been able to see Gods hand In my life now and in the past. I’ve also been able to see his future plans for my life. All because I allowed God to make me one with him. When you allow God to set you apart, what you are really doing is being obedient. You are allowing God to lead you rather than letting your own fleshly/personal desires lead you. I’ve learned over the years about our Father, that he honors those who are obedient and faithful to him. If I want you leaving with something from this blog, is that having a season of being set apart for the Lord is not bad. It’s actually a season of training, growth, fullness and vision.

Over my life I’ve hurt a lot of people. A lot of them unconsciously but to be honest most of them probably consciously. I say consciously because I knew better. As a child of God I know what to do and what not to do. I say this because I’ve done a lot of things emotion led. I didn’t really realize until now how far I let my emotions take me. That’s why In my previous blogs I’ve said you have to take care of yourself emotionally. If you don’t take care of your emotions and let God balance it the way he’s always intended it to be, you are going to affect a lot of people including yourself greatly. I realized now that in the past I was trying to be God. I obviously wasn’t in my head, consciously plotting to be God. No. I just had the heart where I knew people needed God so I would do all in my power to try to make them see that. I would want to push them closer to God. But what I wasn’t understanding is that I was trying to be God. I was trying to do everything in my own strength, when God calls and tells me, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬. He also states in his word, “So I tell you to ask for what you want in prayer. And if you believe that you have received those things, then they will be yours” Mark‬ ‭11‬:‭24‬ ‭ERV‬‬. God calls me to be patient, he also calls me to trust in him. Most importantly in both verses it may look small but it’s actually one of the most important thing he tells us to do, which is prayyyyyy. We need to pray and understand that he’s the miracle maker/doer. He’s the one who can do all things. He’s the one who is going to save these people. Yes we are his vessels but at the end of the day we aren’t the ones doing the work. It’s his power and doing, that does it. We need to understand that God calls us to do up to a certain point. We can’t continue and do his job. Sometimes we are simply meant to just plant the seed. Other times maybe he will tell you to go further. But it won’t be emotion led, it will be spiritually led. It also won’t feel forced, it will happen naturally. If you feel like you are forcing it literally imagen yourself giving it to God, that’s what I do. I take my two palms, I place the situation in his hand and I give it to him in prayer. We have to understand even God in his word says not everyone will be saved. I’m not saying you should give up on your friend or loved one. Or believe that they won’t be saved. I’m just saying stop trying to control something that only God knows the outcome of. Pray and believe that your friend or the situation will be saved. We are called to pray-have faith-trust-be patient-love, that’s what we are called to do. You are going to learn you can’t control everything in life and that’s okay. It’s crazy because I’m not a controlling person, I just care for my loved ones and I know that they need Jesus. But we as Gods people have to believe and trust when we pray. Now, what I do when I get frustrated I just leave it in Gods hands. When I see a situation that I can’t control I just give it to God and I put him in the place that’s rightfully his. He is the Lord and savior of my life. I also learned when God shows you things it’s not always for you to do something. He’s showing you so that you can pray and be one with him. He wants to use you but not always the way you think. Sometimes he shows you things so that you can simply pray and Intercede for. Something I also realized that in the midst of trying to save my friends and loved ones I was losing myself. I was too focused on taking care of everyone else’s salvation that I was losing my own. God is clear in his word, “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?” Mark‬ ‭8‬:‭36‬ ‭NLT‬‬. That’s why I believe in reading the word. Many people say that’s ancient but it’s not. It has alot of life situations that we go through. The word of God can help you through annnnyyy situation. The best thing you can do for someone else is take care of your own salvation first. If not you are just giving from a place of emptiness because you aren’t even connected to the one who actually saves. You have to fill yourself up with the Lord. When you are filled with the Lord that’s when you actually have something to give. You are giving or imparting from the fountain that truly satisfies/transforms/heals people. Connect yourself with God and than you will know what his people truly needs. He sees things you don’t, he sees beyond what your eyes can see. Also if you push people too much to get to God, a lot of time they are just going to go the opposite way. That’s why you give your loved one advice and motivate them to get to know God but at a certain point you need to understand it has to be out of your hands. You do your job and then give it to God. He’s the one who will do it, not you. That’s why you constantly need to take care of your salvation so you can take care of your intimacy with God. God can reveal to you what he wants you to do and what he doesn’t. You can’t possibly do it, only through Gods power. Just like we have to trust God In our own lives, we have to trust God in other peoples lives. Trust God… he knows what we need.

The last way to take of yourself would be Spiritually. It’s important to feed your spirit. The way to feed your spirit is through the word. Through sacrificing time to be intimate with the Lord. Recently I learned that we need to have prayers with God where you are one with him. Meaning prayers where you have the heart of God. Where you pray for what he wants to do in peoples lives, not your own will. We also need to fast, fasting kills our flesh. Which means the Holy Spirit will guide our lives. Which also means our spirit and God will be one. Taking care of our spiritual lives is really important because it will help us be led by the spirit. We will be led to do Gods will for our lives. Its about being carful with what your eyes see. What you let enter your mind. What you let enter into your heart. What you let enter your ears. All these things enter directly into your spirit. If you are watching shows and movies that dont edify your spirit, than cut it off. Becarful with sexual movies, you may be opening doors to lust or sexual immorality. Depending on what you are watching you can open the doors to fear, witchcraft, darkness, etc. When I say becarful with what you hear I say it because I’ve realized now a days people dont listen or understand what they are letting into their spirits. They listen to songs that talk about women in a derogatory way. It talks about depression, and anger. It feeds all the evil spirits that the devil wants to plant in our lives. They could be listening to a song that tells them to kill themselves and they wouldn’t even realize it. What is it worth if you contaminate your spirit. You have to keep your spirit pure and free from all plan of the enemy. It’s like people who want to be fit. It’s kind of funny because many people think the way you will lose weight is only if you work out, I used to think that. But no! you need to work out and feed you body with healthy nutrition. You need to work your body but also feed it with consistent/healthy fuel. So I encourage you today to take care of your spirit by feeding it heavenly nutrients. Fast, pray, read the word, worship and be intimate with God. Get to know the Father and become one with him. The less you conform to the world and the more you connect with God, the more your spirit will be more healthy and happy.

I believe we have to take of ourselves Physically. God calls us to be responsible for our bodies. God states in his word clearly, “You should know that you yourselves are God’s temple. God’s Spirit lives in you” Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬. In the next verse he says, “If you destroy God’s temple, God will destroy you, because God’s temple is holy. You yourselves are God’s temple”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬. It sounds harsh but it’s the truth, God is clearly stating that we will be destroyed if we destroy or make unclean his temple; where he resides. The Holy Spirit is within us which is why we need to make sure we are taking care of our temple. That includes taking care of our body. You know what’s crazy when I was younger I wouldn’t take care of myself. I would dress like I didn’t care about my life. The way I felt about myself on the inside portrayed on the outside. I felt ugly, fat and not like a queen. How you feel about yourself on the inside will show on the outside. If you don’t view yourself the way God sees you, it will show on your outward appearance. I felt ugly so I wouldn’t dress or act confidently. The way I spoke to people and carried myself was very poor. I wouldn’t care about fixing my hair. I wouldn’t take care of my skin. I wouldn’t take care of my health. I wouldn’t do my nails. I wouldn’t do basic stuff that a human being should do to take care of themselves. This is where your spiritual, physical, and mental well being becomes one. They are a whole package for your health. You see when you take care of yourself mentally and spiritually everything changes. If you see yourself as a queen or king of God you will carry yourself different. You will talk without caring what people think but rather what God thinks. You will dress different, walk different and speak differently. When you comprehend your identity in God, your perspective changes. It’s like when the word says you will know someone by their fruits. You will know if someone is truly intimate or connected with God by their fruits; by what’s in their hearts. By their actions towards people when they aren’t alone with God. Same thing, you will know if a person truly follows God or truly understands who they are in God by how they take care of their physical being. What you do in your private/intimate time will reflect in public. Also if we aren’t good physically how are we going to be able to use this body that we have. We need to take care of this physical body so that God can fulfill his purpose in us. We still have a purpose with our physical bodies even though one day those who truly are saved will leave these bodies here on earth. We need to work out, keep our body in shape. Just like we need to feed our body spiritual nutrients we need physical nutrients. We need to eat things that help better our immune system and digestive system. If we are constantly sick, or not healthy how are we going to complete Gods assignment for us here on earth. Taking care of your spiritual well-being is just as important as taking care of your physical well-being. If we don’t have healthy and stable bodies here on earth, we won’t be able to function properly for Gods glory and honor.

In this 3 week series I want to speak about how to take care of your mental, spiritual, and physical health. This is very important because if not these things will be exposed on the surface at the wrong time.

Im not going to lie to you I say what I said up above because I recently encountered a situation that I’ve been going through for a while. For a while I’ve been thinking that I’m slow and dumb. I don’t say this so you can feel bad for me, the point is not to victimize yourself. The point is to expose the problem and find the solution. On my side I did it wrong, I let it go on for a while. It came out at the wrong time possible, while I was playing a game with my friends I thought I didn’t understand the game. This is not the first time I do something and I feel dumb/slow to understand the game. Some people in the past have called me dumb. But I already healed that part, I’ve learned to not accept what people think about me. What matters is what God thinks of me not people, he’s my creator. But anyway it exploded in my face I told my friends I don’t want to play calmly but I isolated myself from being with my friends playing that game in that moment. But this exploded because of how I’ve been feeling about myself recently, it has been going on for a while. Lately Gods been showing me things and telling me things spiritually. Sometimes when he’s showing me these things I get frustrated because I cant understand it or it takes me time to understand it. So that’s where it comes from. I allowed the devil to creep in lies about who I am. I made myself believe that I’m slow/dumb and that I’m not capable of understanding what God wants to tell me. Which I get myself, I don’t want to fail God. But instead of letting that go on for a while I should of stopped-exposed-and spoken the truth to myself. You want to know the truth about yourself go to the word of God or ask God directly. It’s normal to get thoughts but it’s another to let it drive through your mind. I should of exposed that thought with the truth. God does not call me dumb, he does not call me slow. I just need to quiet more to listen correctly before I react. Mentally I would say you should feed yourself with the truth. Especially when you are new in Christ. This is something that you have to let the Holy Spirit renew your mind everyday. I say this because especially when you are new you are still kind of weak. You aren’t complete in God yet, you are still getting to know God. Which means you are still getting to know the identity he’s given you. The devil attacks you regardless because he knows we are not of this world and wants us to be a part of this world. He wants us on his side, but God clearly states, “You were taught to leave your old self. This means that you must stop living the evil way you lived before. That old self gets worse and worse, because people are fooled by the evil they want to do. You must be made new in your hearts and in your thinking” Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭22‬-‭23‬. That means we have to let God renew our minds because the old way of thinking wasn’t aligning with Gods thinking. Gods not of this world so we shouldn’t strive to be like this world. We are like Jesus he was here on earth temporarily to fulfill Gods purpose for him. Afterwards when it was finished God brought his son back home where he belonged, his true home in heaven. So I say take care of yourself mentally because where you win your battles is in the mind. The mind is a powerful thing, if you let the devil in it won’t be pretty I promise. The devil is out to kill, destroy and steal from you.

Where do we find this..? I feel like for years this has been one of my biggest challenges. I think we don’t realize that a lot has a play in this. It could be how you’ve been raised. It could be your childhood trauma. Maybe what you believe about yourself or how you let other people define you. The fact of the matter is that somewhere along the way, in your life you let these lies creep in and reign your thoughts/heart. Over the years I’ve had to learn that as you get connected to God, he shows you who you are in him. He calls us loved, wanted, precious, beautiful, powerful, wonderfully and fearfully made, wise, joyful, patient, etc. I think it’s when I stopped depending on others opinion about me is when I truly had a good self-esteem. I started to realize that peoples opinion about me changed like every day. One day people liked me the other day they didn’t. One day people think I’m beautiful the next day, people thought I was average or ugly. One day people thought I was annoying the next day people thought I wasn’t. People like my hair curly sometimes, other days they like it pin straight. Sometimes people like my presence and other days they just want to push me away. Sometimes my words and being please people, the next day it doesn’t. Some people think my smile is so genuine others think I’m mad fake. You see the way people see you is so different, it’s ever changing because they are human. Humans aren’t the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. People judge you or determine who you are based on your actions, how you look, your mistakes, etc. I always tell God I want to be more like you, I want to see people the way you do. Why is this one of my prayer petitions? Because I know God doesn’t see people the way we humans do. We can fail a thousand times and God is still going to see you the way he created you. God sees beyond what we can see because he is omniscient. Our mind can’t possibly comprehend Gods greatness. That’s why God says in his word that we should ask for peace that surpasses all understanding. He knows we are humans and want to know everything, but we can’t. We aren’t at Gods level, he is bigger than our understanding. The way you get to know yourself is by getting to know the Father. When I’m intimate with God I ask him to remove all the things I let contaminate me that are not of him. You see God created us one way, but we can choose to be another. That’s why when you accept Jesus as your savior he restores you as a whole. You are now a new creation, which means all the old is forgotten. Meaning the old sinful self is new, changed and restored. To be restored means to go back to the beginning; So how God originally designed you to be before sin took place. That’s why I try not to judge people based on what they are currently showing me. I have to put myself in their place and understand that they aren’t perfect. People use the excuse “well I’m not God”. You are right you aren’t, but isn’t our whole walk about being more like Jesus. Jesus saw people the way God did. In fact he most definitely did because he believed we were worth saving, that’s what the Father believed. That’s why he sent his only son to die on the cross for us. It took me time to understand who I am, i also needed to heal my past traumas. I would let my mistakes define who I am. But I let go of that, I let God tell me who i am for a change. I am the daughter of the most high. Which means I am favored, loved, free, chosen, renewed, saved, powerful, etc. That’s what God says about his children. I don’t know about you but that’s the best identity anyone could have. This identity is constant/consistent, which means it never changes. When people know that you are Gods child they know they can’t mess with you, why? Because no one messes with God, they may think they can but they are just fools (God says it in his word). One of the things the devil loves to attack us on, is our identity. If the devil can attack your identity and make you think you are something you are not, he’s got you. Who we believe we are is how we react to a lot of things in life and what we think about ourselves. That’s why you got to read in the word and let God himself tell you who you are. When the devil or people want to tell you otherwise, you will be rooted and ignore it. You will walk with the truth and not believe in the lies. The word of God says he is the truth, the way and the life. If he is the truth that means he can’t lie. Which means God doesn’t lie about who you are in him, you are a child of God. So If you are reading I want to encourage you to get to know the Father because once you know him you get know yourself. You get to know who he created you to be all along.
